It’s official! Team Mystic Moose is taking on the Mongol Rally!
Over the last week, we’ve signed up and put our names on the list, and in a handful of months we’ll be flying halfway around the world from California to Europe to start the Rally!
We’ve got our team (mostly) figured out – Myself and Josh will act as team captains, and will be in the car from start to finish. We have a number of members that are interested in taking part, but have obligations that only allow them to spend a few weeks in the car. Besides the two of us, we’ll have John and Rebecca in the car for Europe, Lori will jump in at Romania, and Kevin, Josh’s dad, will join us somewhere west of the Caspian. Isaac, Josh’s brother, will likely jump in the car at some point too. This all works out such that we can rotate who is in the car and give as many people some time in the car as possible. This will give us the interesting challenge of coordinating when and where to have people enter and exit the car. As we move further along our route, it will get harder and harder to pinpoint when exactly we will get to our team member exchange checkpoint. Breakdowns, long border crossings, rough terrain and unexpected delays may push back when we get to certain cities.
